IZIAH THOMPSON
Iziah Thomspon graduated from NYU Wagner School of Public Service in May 2019. He is
currently a Senior Policy Analyst for the New York Housing Conference and former analyst for
New York City Comptroller Scott Stringer.
He has carried out policy and quantitative data analysis, and written widely on politics and legislation.
Over the last half-decade, he has contributed to housing and zoning policy for congressional and
local political campaigns in New York City. His interests in the intersection of policy and politics
has landed his work on Huff Post, the Fair Observer, and Truthout. Iziah's writing doesn't stop with
standard non-fiction, he also pens essays, short stories, and poetry-- he is currently working on a
novel and has had a poem published in the June 2020 issue of the International Beyond Words
Literary Magazine. One interesting fact about Iziah is that in 2016-17, he served in Americorps
where he traveled the American south responding to natural disasters and rebuilding infrastructure.
Iziah enjoys bringing research and data to people via compelling articles and data visualizations.
Beyond his technical work, Iziah has focused on bridging the gap between what is exhibited in
academic journals and policy memos, and where the public discourse is. Iziah believes that our
society works better when people are given access to good information and policymakers use
research-based approaches to move the country forward.
